With their maiden season almost halfway over, San Antonio FC finally seems to be getting the results they have deserved and been working for.

SAFC’s results so far this season have been a mixed bag. A promising first couple of games gave way to a general downturn in league play. At the same time, a couple of wins came SAFC’s way against lower-league opposition in the US Open Cup, but the cup run ended with a 0-4 demolition at the hands of the Houston Dynamo on June 15.

“The newness is starting to wear off,” said SAFC goalkeeper Josh Ford after the tough loss. “I think it’s time for us, as a group, to start doing what we need to do.”
